Richard is a TV presenter of music films on the BBC's flagship programme, The One Show.
Richard has worked with The One Show for over 5 years. He has completed an amazing array of musical challenges, told a range of fascinating stories, and interviewed a host of musical luminaries. In his time to date, he's created and performed with his own orchestra made of ice instruments, composed music for the International Space Station, recorded a symphony of bees, played Henry VIII's "Greensleeves" on the Mary Rose, and jammed smooth jazz in a lift! Richard has drummed with Dire Straits, conducted an ensemble of tuning forks, and recorded with the BBC Concert Orchestra. He has interviewed Tommy Iommi (Black Sabbath), Graham Gouldman (10CC), songwriters Mike Batt and Roger Greenaway, producers William Orbit and Steve Levine, and performed live in the studio with Hugh Laurie and Tom Odell. Behind the camera he's directed Bucks Fizz and Brotherhood of Man, conducted a live 14-strong piano band, and MD'd 15 Elvis impersonators, including Vernon Kay!! Richard is also a regular contributor to the Jeremy Vine Show on Radio 2.
